The Poughkeepsie Tape is directed by John Erick Dawdle, the guy who also directed Quarantine (2008), Devil (2010) and the upcoming As Above So Below (2014). Similar to Quarantine, The Poughkeepsie Tapes is “lost-tapes” film, but in documentary style. The lost tapes was made and left to the police by the famous serial killer of Poughkeepsie city, The Water Street Butcher. Apparently, he has been recording all his crimes in 800 videotapes.

Quite a disturbing film, to say the least. For example, a scene involve C-section and a severed head. Surprisingly, The Poughkeepsie Tapes is not available neither in DVD nor in videotape 🙂
